Double Treat Cookies

INGREDIENTS:

2 cups sifted flour

2 teaspoons baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup shortening

1 cup sugar

1 cup brown sugar

2 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 cup peanut butter

1 cup salted peanuts

1 (6 oz.) package semi-sweet chocolate chips

1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

2.Sift together flour, baking soda and salt. Cream together shortening and sugars until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla. Blend in peanut butter. Add dry ingredients and blend well. Stir in peanuts and chocolate chips.

3.Shape into small balls and place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten with bottom of a glass dipped in sugar. Bake in moderate oven for 8 minutes or until brown. Remove from pan. Cool on racks.
